How do you sail a sunfish? Who has the right of way? Which side of the boat are the green bouys supposed to be on? How do I get certified to use personal water craft (jet skis)?  The Mid-Hudson Power Squadron will help you answer these questions!  The Mid-Hudson Power Squadron is one of 19 squadrons in District 2 which the PYC is lucky enough to have hosting classes for our club.

The local District 2 (Est. 1926) is run by a few committed members who share a connection to the PYC and the River. In the picture, Pat Smalley, Ernie Klopping, and Ed Webber who are very friendly folks who are regularly at the club as members, teaching, and helping out at the club. These trained members teach boating courses to the public and members and are certified by NYS to provide certificates of completion and PWC endorsements. The local USPS group meets socially on the third Wednesday of each month at different area restaurants or at the PYC. In addition, the club goes cruising several times a year from May through November, hence it is nice for boaters and non-boaters alike.
